These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Pinotes ("App"), a timestamped note‑taking application designed primarily for YouTube video learning and content organization. By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Pinotes may expand to additional platforms in the future. These Terms continue to apply regardless of platform unless otherwise specified.

1. Use of the App

1.1 Eligibility — You must be at least 13 years old to use Pinotes. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, your use must be supervised by a parent or legal guardian.

1.2 Guest Usage — You may use Pinotes without creating an account. However, certain features such as syncing across devices, restoring data, or accessing premium features require signing in using an available authentication option (e.g., Apple, Google). Additional sign‑in providers may be introduced.

1.3 Account Responsibility — You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and all actions taken under it. Pinotes is not liable for loss of data resulting from device loss, account misuse, or credential exposure.

1.4 Acceptable Use — You agree not to:

• copy, modify, or distribute App assets or code;
• upload or store unlawful content within your notes or screenshots;
• attempt to reverse engineer or disrupt App functionality;
• misuse YouTube content in ways that violate YouTube's Terms of Service.

Important: Pinotes does not download videos. You are responsible for ensuring your usage complies with YouTube policies and any applicable copyright requirements.

2. Content & Data

2.1 Your Notes & Screenshots — Notes, timestamps, screenshots, and metadata you create remain yours. Pinotes only stores this data to provide App functionality.

2.2 Storage & Syncing — Creating an account enables syncing across devices. Data deletion or device loss without a registered account may result in permanent loss of data.

2.3 Exports & Sharing — Exporting (e.g., PDF), or generating shareable note links is available to all users at the moment; however, certain export or collaboration features may become paid or restricted in the future.

2.4 Temporary Content Processing — Exported files are generated temporarily and are not permanently retained by Pinotes after delivery.

2.5 Third‑Party Content — You are responsible for any use of third‑party content (e.g., YouTube videos) within your notes.

3. Subscriptions & Payment

3.1 Auto‑Renewing Subscriptions — Premium features may require an active subscription purchased through the App Store. Subscription terms, renewal conditions, and pricing are presented within the App.

3.2 Free Trials — Free trials may be offered selectively based on plan type or promotional availability. Trial eligibility and duration may vary.

3.3 Refunds — All refunds are handled by Apple. Pinotes cannot issue refunds directly.

3.4 Feature Availability — Premium features may change over time, including paywall adjustments or introductions of new paid capabilities. Using the App after such changes indicates acceptance of updated terms.

4. Modifications to the Service

Pinotes may add, update, or remove features, temporarily or permanently. We may also update these Terms to reflect product evolution or regulatory changes. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.

5. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the App if you violate these Terms or misuse the service. You may stop using the App at any time.

6. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

The App is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pinotes is not liable for:

• data loss, including loss resulting from using the App without an account;
• indirect, incidental, or consequential damages;
• issues arising from third‑party platforms (e.g., YouTube, Apple, sign‑in providers).

Your use of the App is at your sole risk.

7. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in your country of residence unless local laws require otherwise.
